Life Recovery Systems ThermoSuit

Project scope: Life Recovery Systems asked Definitive to refine the mechanical subsystems of the ThermoSuit, their flagship product.

The ThermoSuit circulates ice water in direct contact with a trauma patient’s skin to induce hypothermia and prevent brain damage. Through a process of creative engineering and refinement, rigorous tolerance stackup analysis, prototyping for clinical trials (SLA, SLS and machined prototypes), and performance testing we supported Life Recovery Systems in achieving FDA approval and releasing their product into the market. The Thermosuit is estimated to be used on over 10,000 patients a year in the United States alone, preserving brain function for cardiac, stroke and trauma victims.
